    Sokari Ekine occupies a small area of cyber space called Black Looks where she tries to desexualise the minds of passers by and move beyond the simple easy single stories which drift so easily in and out of our lives.

Multi-disciplinary activst from Nigeria with no present fixed abode.

Sokari Ekine is researcher, writer, mentor and blogger. She founded the social justice and cultural blog, Black Looks, during the early days of the African blogosphere when there were few Africans blogging and even fewer African women. She has been one of the most consistent and persistent bloggers since June 2004.

Sokari has worked in various online media sites - as editor for Global Voices, Kabissa: Space for Change in Africa and Pambazuka News where she continues to make regular contributions.
