Maimuna Adam

b. Maputo, 1984.

Maimuna completed her BA in Fine Arts from the University of Pretoria in 2008. She participates consistently in group exhibitions from 2009 onwards, highlighted shows being Temporary Occupations 20.10, VI São Tomé & Príncipe Art and Culture Bienal in São Tomé and Lisbon (2011-2012) and !Kauru: Africa Imagined at the Pretoria Art Museum in 2013. In 2012 she collaborates with Cornelia Enderlein (DE) on "Between Here and There" at ICMA Goethe Zentrum in Maputo for the MUVART Bienal.

She taught Drawing at Instituto Superior de Artes e Cultura in Machava from 2010 to 2012. Her first solo exhibition, "Bon Voyage", was held at Kulungwana Association's gallery at the Central Train Station in Maputo between September and November 2013.
