My art explores various structures in the human material and mental worlds along the line of hegemony, homogeneity, destabilization, chaos, uniformity, dogma, serenity and power. The character of third world cities, particularly Lagos, Nigeria, holds a huge fascination for me with regard to how it morphs temporality and spatiality. The architectonic of Lagos as a mega city, for example, opens up questions on cultural narcissism, third world mobility and globalization processes. By fusing art and technology in my new media interventions, I effect a constructive dialogue with the various facets of the city and offer a critical insight on its pulse. My creative templates mainly include sound, video and photography.
