ZAM: Celebrating African creativity and new thinking
ZAM is an international multi-media platform celebrating African creativity and new thinking. Committed to giving an edgy and contemporary viewpoint on Africa, ZAM’s content is free of clichés, platitudes or romantic notions of the continent. The ZAM network consists of journalists, writers, visual artists, photographers, academics, visionaries and doers, amongst them Marlene Dumas, Chika Unigwe, Anton Corbijn, Binyavanga Wainaina, Berend Strik, Zanele Muholi and Palesa Motsumi. Together they fuel a critically acclaimed, independent, quarterly magazine, digital media, events and art pieces. Founded in 1997 and based in Amsterdam, ZAM is rooted in a heritage of anti-apartheid activism, provocative journalism and artistic expression. Our global audience of savvy cultural creatives and opinion leaders read and experience the ZAM brand in Lagos, London, New York, Douala, Johannesburg, Accra and beyond. ZAM is produced by the ZAM-Net Foundation.
