Awakenings is a performance that explores the intersections between movement, music and costume. Artistic Director and choreographer, Kiki Cheptoo Ng'ok, draws inspiration from traditional Kenyan/African dance with hints of folkloric Cuban, Brazilian, Caribbean, Urban/Hip Hop and Contemporary dance movements to create a unique vocabulary of movement.
