Currently conducting research in traditional and contemporary dance on the African continent, as well as the African diaspora.
A two time recipient of the Art Moves Africa travel grant to study, research and perform dance in Senegal and Burkina Faso.

I am a dance choreographer and writer based in Nairobi, Kenya and the founder of Urbana Africana Dance Company.
URBANA AFRICANA Dance Co. draws from the beauty of Kenya's unmatched natural landscapes, material culture, ancient melodies, and diverse human cultures.

Awakenings is a performance that explores the intersections between movement, music and costume. Artistic Director and choreographer, Kiki Cheptoo Ng'ok, draws inspiration from traditional Kenyan/African dance with hints of folkloric Cuban, Brazilian, Caribbean, Urban/Hip Hop and Contemporary dance movements to create a unique vocabulary of movement.
