Mapack Mapis is a Jos born, Award Winning American Filmmaker and a graduate of the renowned Columbus College of Art and Design. Upon graduating, he landed at McGraw Hill, the nations #1 Publishing Company serving as a designer, until 2006, when he left to pursue his passion of telling stories that connect and enlighten audiences about the universal human conditions. In 2006, Mapis wrote directed and produced his first feature film entitled The Missing Goat Meat: A dark comedy that explores the lives of Africans in Diaspora. Mapis has enjoyed tremendous success as a storyteller, one of such came in form of a recent grant by the Ohio Art Council Grants (OAC). The grant was awarded toward the development of his latest production: In memory of Jos, A documentary film that investigates the root of the decade long crisis in the Nigerian city of Jos and the recent rise of Boko Haram, Nigerians' Islamic terrorist sect.
