My current arts practice involves the use of collage and printmaking to create multi layered images that speak of the abuse of girl children. I am also interested in how societal beliefs and images from the media encourage and or pressurise young girls to be sexualised at a young age and how these messages filter into their way of being as they grow older. Lastly, I am passionate about how art in its myriad of forms can be used as a medium for social change, specifically on the African continent. My recent project has been working with the organisation, Freedom to Create (www.freedomtocreate.com) to develop and implement projects that speak of the importance the arts have on communities. It is my desire to investigate this subject matter as my PHD thesis in the near future.
