Malawian author and filmmaker.
Michael Mutisunge N. Phoya is a Malawian author and filmmaker. He is mainly involved in work which promotes Malawi’s heritage. Malawi is a beautiful country in the south/central Africa, located between Zambia, Mozambique, and Tanzania.
Since the year 2000, Michael has been redefining platforms for publishing in Malawi using non-traditional means. These have included a handmade book with 5 artisans involved [Malawi's first], and an audio book [again, Malawi's first]. He is the author of the funny travelogue Walks of Life, the Other Side of Malawi, and the second edition of the best-selling Malawi, Lake of Stars.
He also runs Kupeza Chambo (http://sustainablemalawi.com), a project whose strategic goal is to help in the promotion of Malawi’s heritage by creating platforms where relevant content from Malawi is effectively promoted through articles, images, papers/documents, audio and video podcasts, and digital films. The objective is to publish relevant and well researched content promoting Malawi’s heritage, with the aim of fully engaging a world audience.
