Alisoun meehan

I am an artist- I use chalk pastel on paper to draw images of neighborhood market places, vendors, butcher shops with an emphasis in meat. I take photos as well as ask my friends while on their travels to take photos for me to draw- using their sense of what the market is whether a goat in a single window or a huge covered market scene...

Independently, I produce and curate multi-media sensorial art exhibitions in galleries but prefer to transform alternative public locations such as parked trucks in front of galleries, the back kitchens of 5 star restaurants, vacant meat lockers, apocalyptic brickyards, etc...I collaborate with artists, musicians, writers, chefs, restaurants, organic farmers, urban market networks, free/affordable health clinics, historical organizations, and lots of sponsors. Each of these events is free and open to the public. We encourage the participation of a diverse audience.
