Alda Terracciano is a video artist, theatre critic, and academic researcher in migration studies. She is founder and director of ALDATERRA Projects, an organization set up to promote the dialogue between different cultures and to support critical debate on issues related to migration through arts and education. The organisation promotes international cultural exchange, intergenerational and intercultural programmes and the use of new media. She is currently working on Streets of… 7 minutes in 7 cities around the world, an international video art project, which focuses on the body and its relationship to ancestral memories. In particular, the project explores the everyday life of seven cities around the world to uncover the traces left by three migratory journeys: the Indo European migrations, the Transatlantic Slave Trade, and the Silk Road. She is Co-founder of Future Histories, the first national repository for African, Asian and Caribbean performing arts in the UK, for which she was Creative Director on a number of projects including the online exhibition www.tradingfacesonline.com. As dramaturg and video artist she worked for a number of organizations including LIFT for which she was Dramaturg and Curator of the 04 Enquiry, a five years project exploring theatre worldwide.
