Robino Ntila

Independent Curator

Robino Ntila is an artist, critic and independent curator. He is well known for his paintings, etchings and woodcuts exhibited in Tanzania, Kenya, Europe and the United States. He is a founding member of the Rafiki Art Trust, Dar es Salaam, an art training, research centre, and artist workshop that fosters exchanges between local and international artists.

Ntila was one of the artists involved with Nyumba ya Sanaa (House of Art), of which he became coordinator. In the past, he also set up a number of artist associations to develope the Tanzanian art scene. He was one of the instigators of the Wasanii International Artists Workshop that ran from 1997 to 2000 and featured, amongst others, Jimmy Ogonga and Veronique Tadjo.
