Andrew Mulenga

Art journalist/critic

Andrew Mulenga graduated with distinction in Art & Design from the Africa Literature Centre, Mindolo, Kitwe in 1993 and joined Mercantile Printers in Ndola as a graphic designer in 1994. A year later he joined Mission Press as a Graphic designer and illustrator until 1998 when he joined The Post
newspaper Zambia’s largest independent daily (circulation 60,000).

In 2003 he was appointed deputy editor for the Education Post, a youth oriented weekly pullout, a position he holds to this day. He has also written extensively on the visual arts since 2003 and currently publishes weekly reviews, critiques and interviews in a column entitled Andrew Mulenga’s Hole In The Wall published every Friday.

He is also a member of the International Association Of Art Critics (AICA), believing he needs a few more grey hairs before he can be called an art critic, he calls himself an ‘art activist’ whose duty is to plead and argue in favour of art.
