It can be argued that art is generated out of nothing, it emerges from a blank space. This exhibition looks at that blank space and its purity. A space often filled up and cluttered by an artist’s ideas and decorative elements that mean nothing.
This exhibition invites the artist to explore this blank space and produce a body of work without frills, without things, with nothing added that is not intended; to express what the artist experiences in that blank and pure space.
no(thing) features, Bronwyn Lace, Greg Streak, Ricky Burnett, Righard Kapp (sound-artist) and Trasi Henen. It opens on 18 November and closes 12 December 2009.
