The Delfina Foundation facilitates cross-cultural dialogue and exchange between the West and the Middle East & North Africa.
As a non-political, charitable organisation, our core activity of Artist Residencies enables opportunities for artists, curators, and thinkers to further develop their practice, whilst our Public Programme of events and collaborative projects explores the link between the arts and civic society, from architecture to human rights.
Renowned art patron Delfina Entrecanales established the foundation as the successor to Delfina Studios. Over its 20-year existence, Delfina Studios became Britain’s largest artist residency space and attained an unparalleled record with more than a dozen Turner Prize nominees. It also supported many well-known artists from the Middle East & North Africa such as Shirazeh Houshairy, Khalil Rabah, Haluk Akakce, Susan Hefuna, and Farhad Moshiri.
The Delfina Foundation aims to develop the next generation of artists by creating innovative models of artistic exchange and establishing platforms to encourage exploration, conversation and collaboration.
