"Dear Goddy" a commemorative stone project - "Dear Goddy" Un projet de stèle commémorative

Following the death of Cameroonian artist Goddy Leye three months ago, a commemorative stone project is under development.

Suite au décès du plasticien camerounais Goddy Leye en début d’année, un projet de stèle commémorative est en cours de préparation.

This project will somehow perpetuate the memory of Goddy Leye and offer to his relatives and to the art community a place for contemplation in the environment he had chosen for living and creating: Bonendalé-Douala.
“Dear Goddy” is based on Sandrine Dole’s design and led in collaboration with ArtBakery, the art structure Goddy Leye had created.
The furniture is a continuous stone ribbon, coming out from earth, reaching the sky and inviting a visitor to sit and commune with Goddy Leye. A plant makes it alive and a glass medallion ingraved with his portrait makes his aura shine. The solemnity is enhanced with a natural bed.

Ce mobilier contribuera à perpétuer la mémoire de Goddy Leye et offrira à ses proches et à la communauté artistique un lieu de recueillement au sein de l'environnement qu'il s'était choisi pour vivre et créer : Bonendalé-Douala.
Le projet, intitulé « Dear Goddy », est développé à partir d’un design de Sandrine Dole et en collaboration avec ArtBakery la structure artistique que Goddy Leye avait créée.
Ruban de granit, partant du sol, intégrant une assise et filant vers le ciel, le mobilier invite le visiteur à se recueillir, à s'installer comme pour converser avec Goddy Leye. Un hibiscus égaye la stèle et un médaillon de verre gravé à son effigie brille telle une aura rémanente. Pour souligner la solennité du lieu, la stèle se détache sur un parterre circulaire naturel.
