Eva Spierenburg (NL, graduated HKU) and Guy Woueté (Cameroen, Rijksakademie Amsterdam) works with mixed media and find their inspiration in the relationship of the individual and his direct environment.

Eva Spierenburg (NL), recently graduated at the Utrecht School of the Arts, creates paintings and animation videos about the relation between the individual and their environment and about identity and self-consciousness. Naivety and ignorance are characteristics for the figures in her work. Eva gives a perspective about humor and a casual decoration. Therefore the paintings are getting a more theatrical perspective.
Characteristic is here wayward material, like paraffin, plaster cast and teddybear eyes.
Eva was recently selected for Art Olive XXL, an artfair of the best graduated artists of the last 10 years. She was also nominated for the Buning Brongers Artprice.

Guy Woueté is studying at the Rijksacademy in Amsterdam (NL). He is inspired by the things that strikes in his environment, which results in a diversity of works. ‘The reality being stronger than any fiction, my videos, photos and paintings try to express a reflection on the commonplace which our eyes do not see anymore.’ Sometimes his work is political, and sometimes it is a neutral observation of the environment. The exhibition shows photos and videos in with Africa has a prominent role.
